Purpose of the Grant
The purpose of this funding program is to promote the participation of students to the Conference and to urge on a young dynamic network in High Pressure Science. Student’s supervisors are invited to forward this information to their students and to encourage them to apply for a grant. The grant is conceived as a modest contribution to support the attendance to the conference. Financial assistance will cover the student registration to the meeting. Note that student registration fee includes official meals and a local transportation ticket.

Eligibility Criteria

Student Scholarship is open to students (under 32 years old) only.
It is understood that the applicant must submit at least one scientific contribution to the “Joint AIRAPT-26 & AHPR-8 conference” in Beijing, and that the attribution of the student scholarship is subject to acceptance of such contribution.

How to Apply

A limited number of scholarships are available and the applications will be judged based upon the student’s current interests, upon how the conference will benefit their studies and research, and upon the quality of the recommendations.

In order to be considered, applications should consist of:

- A current student Curriculum Vitae (no more than two pages). A single file in PDF format (Name: “Scholarship_student last name_CV.pdf”, ex. Scholarship_Smith_CV.pdf) should be electronically submitted by the student to with “scholarship application” in the subject line.

- two support letters from high-pressure researchers stating how the applicant would benefit from attending the conference, including current relevant academic and/or research experience. Each letter should be no more than two pages, include the email address of the support researcher.

These support letters should be electronically submitted by the student or confidentially by the support researchers (Name: “SupportLetter_Researcher last name_Student last name.pdf”, ex. SupportLetter_Burton_Smith.pdf) to: with “scholarship application” in the subject line.


The last day for sending the application is April 30th, 2017.
 It is unlikely that this deadline will be extended. Please note that importance of such date that will allow us to notify the granting of scholarships prior to the abstract submission deadline (May 30th, 2017).

Notification and Conditions

Applicants will be notified of the decision by email no later than May 15st, 2017.
If a student with a scholarship cannot finally attend the Conference for some reason, he/she should inform the local executive committee as soon as possible before the Conference dates.
